Being a big Stephen King fan I was hoping for a book that will give me a look into this author’s life. This book does that, it adds a bit more than the book “On Writing” that Stephen King wrote himself. This book talks about his childhood and his inspiration on some of his writings and some of his pitfalls when it came to publishing his first book and movie rights. It was a great book if you want to see behind the mind of the man who wrote some of the best horror books. One gripe I had with this book was that it repeated itself a lot. You would hear the same story multiple times, it’s like he wanted a bigger book, so he copied and paste some of the stories again throughout the book. I felt the book could have been half the size and you wouldn’t have lost anything. One example of this happening is that he would tell us a story about a specific book that King wrote then tell us the same story when he talked about the movie version of that same book. He would then tell us the same story when he talked about the reissue of this book. It got old. That being said if you just want one book about King I would suggest “On Writing” if you read that and want more than this will suffice.

This was a fun film to watch and ended the nine-film series on a good note. I felt the storyline was a little lacking but the graphics and fighting were top-notch. The music and sound effects made the whole movie fun to watch. I feel like the people who are criticizing this film were expecting way more than any of the past Star Wars films ever delivered. I was surprised to see Carrie Fisher in the movie since she passed away during the last movie. I found out they used old footage from some previous movies. I felt like they tied that in very well. I will watch this movie again, maybe with a nine movie Star Wars movie binge.

Set in the 90s, “Little Fires Everywhere” portrays a clash between two mothers leading contrasting lives. Reese Witherspoon portrays Elena, living an entitled life that she feels she has complete control over. Kerry Washington plays Mia, a protective mother who aims to do the right thing. The show’s similarities with “Big Little Lies,” which also stars Witherspoon in a role reminiscent of Elena’s, are noticeable. The acting is superb, and the characters seem to inhabit their roles seamlessly. The story can be emotional at times, touching on sensitive issues like abortion and class entitlement. As the series draws to a close, the plot becomes more gripping, culminating in a satisfying and unexpected finale.

This book was pretty amazing as it told the story of Operation Mincemeat. It had me at the end of my seat at times. I went into this book knowing nothing about this operation and the fact that it worked was pretty amazing in itself. The book did drag on at times but it also gave the backgrounds and the motivations of all the people who were involved. Ian Flemming (author of the Bond series) played a part in this, which inspired some of his books. The ending could have been cut short, it went on talking about all the books and movies that were made and/or filmed from this operation. I felt like this was kind of unnecessary.

Amazing Pixar film about siblings and an incredible bond they can share. It was very well written with amazing visuals and effects. The adventures the brother takes in hopes to see their dad one last time was something you would see out of a fantasy book. While some storylines were predictable, it was still an amazing story with a wonderful ending. It’s going to be one of those movies that I will probably be watching multiple times.

I went into this movie knowing that it was going to be a stupid comedy, think Happy Gilmore, Anger Management, etc. I found this movie not to be that funny, the main character “Missy” was just over the top ridiculous. I’m pretty sure that was the point but It was just too much for me. Most of the things she did weren’t that funny. I found the HR guy and Tim Morris (played by David Spade) to be pretty funny at times but not enough to save the movie.

I initially watched this movie when it came out back in 2000. My memory was that it was hilarious and had an awesome soundtrack. I remember it being one of the better comedies that I had seen in a while. I even purchased the soundtrack but I can’t seem to locate the CD. Rewatching this, however, gives me a different opinion. The soundtrack is still great, it was funny and witty in places, but the movie itself didn’t live up to my prior expectation. If you have never seen the movie and like witty comedy, I would still recommend it.

This is a great continuation of one of my favorite zombie apocalypse series that I thought wrapped up with the 4th book Well Fed (Mountain Man 4) . I like the character writing, and the Gus and Collie pair seems to be nailing it. The book ended with me hoping for more. If you haven’t read the series, I would start with book 1 Mountain Man .
